Hamarøyskaftet

The classic route up. Mostly exposed moderate scrambling, with 5 short sections of proper climbing, up to Norwegian grade 5-.

5 pitches, good climbing with some unclear and grassy sections in between. Cruxes are a magnificent hand crack on the first pitch and a butterfly offwidth on the fourth pitch. Possible escape to Normalveien before the fourth pitch. Several variations are possible. Bring a big cam, eg BD#4. FA was done in 3 pitches, and might have gone up a bold slab on the fourth pitch, avoiding the offwidth.
