Ailefroide... A wonderful small alpine village situated at about 1500m. The village is has a wonderful and calming atmosphere and a rich history for mountaineering and climbing in general.
With Ailefroide as a base, you can go alpine climbing, trad climbing, sport climbing, multi pitching with all level of commitment and also Bouldering!
If you didn't bring your pads, you'll find pads for rent in some of the shops in the village.

In these topos, you will find almost all developed boulders in the valley. If you find any missing, you can add them through the website or through the app.

The boulders are spread out along the valley with clear sectors. You'll find sectors as low as 1300m and as high as 1900m. There are boulders to be found for all levels.

Given the altitude, bouldering in winter is not possible. But as soon as the road is open, you may start to find good conditions, depending on the sector. Don't be fooled by the altitude. On sunny summer days, even the highest sectors can be scorching hot. We'd say, best seasons are late Spring and Early Autumn. But if you're not looking to send your hardest, summer is perfect.

Some sectors are on the other side of the river. Don't attempt to cross the river if the water looks wild! Only do so in autumn, when the melting-season has passed. attempting to cross in summer, would have disastrous consequences.
