Description

🚶‍♂️ 2-15' - ⛰️ 500+ MSL - 🧭 S - ☀️ all day

Algund (Lagundo) is by far the best bouldering area of Alto Adige and one of the largest in North of Italy.
What makes this area so special? There are a bunch of features, so let’s start from its dimension!
The area covers almost 50 hectares of forest (something like 70 football pitches!) and has hundreds of boulders counting over 400 problems.
Since the problems' quantity is so high, the area is enjoyable for climbers of all levels. Landings are mainly quite comfortable.
The paths are evident and clean, the length of the accesses depend on car park choice but generally do not last more than 15 minutes.
The rock of Algund is gneiss, turning out to be quite grippy. Only some of the most repeated problems have polished foot holds, but they are still good.
Since all the area is facing South, the best conditions are met during the Winter, while Summer is almost unclimbable.

Note that Algund is also accessible by public transport. If you are spending a Winter holiday here, we suggest you visit the beautiful Merano and its known spa during the resting days.
