Description

Two easily accessible granite boulders in Anebo. Try wrestling up the slopers on "Karelin" or try the crimps on "Skogshuggaren" on the overhanging highball. There are also a collection of nice easier sloper problems on the lower boulder.

Best season is usually spring. When developed the boulders were in a pine forest but since 2025 they are in a clear-cut with sun exposure during most of the day, so they can dry fast if it's sunny and/or windy.

The landings are good, but extra cashpads are recommended for both boulders.

Don't forget to also visit "Anebo - Manickmannen" and "Anebo - Super Ape" which both are close by.

History

The two boulders were originally surprisingly hard to see from the gravel road and they were driven by many times before actually scouted in 2023/2024. First ascents in early 2024 when they still were surrounded by a pine forest. Since 2025 they are located on a clear-cut.

The left arete on the "Kåda"-boulder was originally blocked by a tree. You can still (2025) see the sap on the boulder where the tree rubbed against the rock. Hence, the problems "Kåda" and "Skogshuggaren" on the left side starts on the face and not the arete.

Anebo - Karelin

The area is access sensitive!

🏡 There is a house with a stable and horses 🐎 close by so drive carefully and keep a low profile!

Anebo is a 25 minutes drive from Kalmar via Tvärskog and Långaström. From Långaström it's just 5 minutes.

🚘 If you start from Kalmar: Take E22 towards Malmö. Follow signage towards Tvärskog. When reaching Tvärskog turn towards Nybro and after driving through Tvärskog turn left to Långaström. Follow signage towards Alsjöholm.

🚘 If you start from Nybro: Take road 25 towards Kalmar and follow the signs towards Tvärskog. After passsing Högebo take a right turn towards Alsjöholm.

🚘 If you start from Påryd: Drive road 520 towards Kalmar then turn to Runtorp. After 6 km, at the three way crossing in Betekulla, turn left towards Alsjöholm.

🚘 In Anebo (about 2.6 km after you passed Långaström) follow the signage and turn towards Kroksmåla. After 350 meters driving on the smaller gravel road you have reached your destination.

🅿️ There is a small forest road on the right hand side of the gravel road. Follow it ~50 meters and there is a small spot on the left hand side where you can park without blocking the forest road. 🅿️Alternative larger parking: Continue on the gravel road for 250 meters and then walk back to the small forest road.

🚶 From the primary parking you can se the boulders, follow the forest road ~50 meters and they are on your left hand side.

To prevent access issues please:
• Follow "Allemansrätten".
• Be very careful to not hurt tree plants or other sensitive vegetation.
• Drive carefully and park where you don't block access for other vehicles.
• Do not litter.
• Keep a low profile.
• Remove tick marks and excessive chalk on holds.
• Be observant of any hunting in the area. If there is hunting going on then do not climb. Avoid the area during the first week(s) of elk hunting season which starts October 8.
