🚗 Arrival:
Shared destination is Castelnuovo ne’ Monti, at the roundabout by the hospital. Take the exit marked for Pietra di Bismantova, then turn right. Pass by the graveyard, turn left, and after 150 meters, left again. Follow the road for 950 meters, reaching the West car park. Continue driving for another 900 meters to reach Piazzale Dante.
Note that Piazzale Dante car park incurs a fee from June 1st to September 30th, 8am to 8pm. From October 1st to May 30th, charges apply on public holidays.
🚶♂️ Sectors:
There are 7 main ways to reach different groups of sectors, while boulders are spreaded around La Pietra and reachable using the network of trails.
1. Sasso Coccinella located on the left side of the main road, 80 meters past the secondary free car park.
2. From Piazzale Dante, proceed towards the staircase leading to the hermitage. On the left there is Sasso Smeraldo. After ascending the stairs, Sasso della Bettola is on the left. Reach the hermitage square. Eremo is here. Follow the path to the left, leading to Verbum, Gare Vecchie, and Gare Vecchie Baby. Between Gare Vecchie and Gare Vecchie Baby, a path branches off to the ledge of Il Giorgione (fixed ropes). Continuing along the wall, you'll encounter Zona Gabri (left of a cave), Illusioni (large pillar) and Gare Nuove. The path connects to 697. A trail with blue dots on the right leads to Placche di Albertino - Capibara and Sirotti. Climb any of Placche di Albertino routes to reach the ledge of the Capibara. Sirotti is located a few meters ahead. Multi-pitch sector Dente della Vecchia is ahead behind the edge of La Pietra. Continue towards the summit, then leave the path heading to the via ferrata and the Dry tooling sector.
3. 80 meters before the hermitage, take the path on the right towards via ferrata degli Alpini. You'll encounter Sasso sul Sentiero shortly after. A trail on the right leads to Sasso Batman. Proceed along the left side of Sasso sul Sentiero to access Anfiteatro and Banana - Nino Marchi. Go right to get to Pilone Giallo. Beyond Pilone Giallo, the path divides. Enter the hole keeping left to reach the base of Parete Est, go right to access subsequent sectors. At the next junction, left for Pornografie, right for Estasi and Le Terrazze. Follow the path to reach the base of Orto dei Mandorli. From here, a path along the wall leads to Sasso dei Reggiani - Palestra CAI and Placca Freezer in 10 minutes.
4. From Piazzale Dante, proceed towards the guesthouse and take the forest road. 250 meters ahead take the trail on the left. 30 meters after there is a junction. Left to Sasso Diamante and Sasso Rubino, straight to Sasso Mobi Dick, Sasso Piatto, Sasso Horus and Sasso Akab.
5. To access the Cocoa sector, ascend to the top of La Pietra and follow the trail on the map.
6. From the West car park, head south and take the dirt road on the left. Follow this road for 10 minutes to reach Sassolungo, and 5 minutes more to arrive the Multi-pitches - West sector.
7. Idro cave has its a dedicated car park and trail, marked on the map.
