Calliano is a small but pretty boulder area on the back of the Castel Pietra castle, between Calliano and Volano villages.
There are almost 50 problems from 4 to 7C. Boulders are not particularly big, but some lines are really interesting and challenging. Rock is limestone, good on many boulders, a bit brittle on few others.
The access is really short and easy and landings are generally good. Thanks to these facts and the high number of easy lines, this area well suits beginners and families.
Best seasons to climb here are the mid ones. Winter is still good while Summer turns out to be a little bit to hot.
Around the boulder area there are many private properties, we kindly ask you to respect them.
On the back of the boulder area, there is the nice castle of Castel Pietra that is a location for events. Another great castle to visit here is the Castle of Besenello, we highly recommend a visit.
