Cijevna Canyon is a deep gorge carved into the limestone by the Cijevna River. When entering from the east you will enjoy approximately 15 km of mind-blowing scenery and endless faces before arriving at the Albanian border.
There are 4 sectors here. All of them are south facing and in the sun for the most of the day. Climbing here is not possible for the warmer half of the year as the rock gets too slippery in the heat. Most of the routes are vertical and 20-25m high. Currently, there are no sport routes in the Far Left sector, but it is possible to climb trad there. "Left Wall is a 30 m tall by 60 m long south facing cliff of beautiful gray and orange limestone. There are 15 routes with grades that range from 4b to 8c.
The style is generally technical vertical face climbing with the occasional tufa and always a spectacular view. Right Wall is a south facing 130 meters long × 40 meters tall band of limestone. The face is generally vertical to slightly overhanging and made up of technical face climbing with crimps, cracks, pockets and tufas. This sector contains 17 routes with grades that range from 6a to 8a+.
The approach is short and the rock quality is some of the best in the canyon making this a great destination. Grey Left is, as the name implies the left wall of gray limestone. This 40 meter long × 30 meter tall cliff of south facing rock consists of excellent rock quality. This face hosts 7 routes with grades that range from 5 to 6b.
The rock is generally high friction with well protected sport routes. The scenery is spectacular and the crystal clear stream beneath the crag makes for a gorgeous setting. Far Left Wall is a 25 meters tall × 60 meter long cliff. The rock is south facing gray limestone that maintains a slightly less than vertical angle.
The routes are generally moderate, consisting of pockets, ledges, crimps and cracks. If maintained the belay area is wonderfully flat due to the terrace and the field that has been created by farmers at the base.
