"Climbing Snowdon" is more typically a phrase used by the many millions who effectively walk to the summit each year and not to boulderers but it is with these very ramblers that you'll find yourself mixing with on the walk in to Cwm Dyli. And it does feel nice to walk amongst them with a pad on your back...
This is the very definition of a mountain crag, sitting, well, on a plateau on the highest mountain in Wales. However once off the path, you'll also find yourself in undoubted seclusion. While you can see the blocs from the Miner's Path (just about) few would think to look across to see you, let alone wander over to see what you were up to.
And the boulders are worth the trek, at least once or twice. It is a bit of an assault course and personally, i only attempt it after a solid week of not only dry but sunny weather, in order for the ground to be dry. There is also the dilemma of wanting to take more pads but then struggling to get them over or under the pipeline on the way.
Cwm Dyli is a crag everyone should experience at least once but most likely won't, leaving the hidden gems to those of us willing to put in the effort to get there.
