At sector "Sonnwendwand" you could climb in winter time but best season for all sectors is spring to autumn. The south facing sectors are covered by coniferous forest, so there is shade all the time. Only "Bergler Turm" is exposed above the trees.

Most chances for dry rock after rain you might get at "Megalumania", Bergler Turm" and "Sonnwendwand". Rainproof is just the right part of "Megalumania" and depending on the wind direction the left part as well.

Essentially there is vertical climbing with slightly further distances between bolts. Report of traditional older routes, the bolts are rebolted and trustable though. Long climbs around 30 meter exist at "Höllenstein", "Aufsesstaler Südwand" and the tower at "Sonnwendstein". At the right part of "Megalumania" is steeper powerful climbing on jugs and pockets. Same at "Neppwand", although not that steep.

All sectors at river Aufsess (Höllenstein, Südwand, Anderland) are absolutely unsuitable for kids, especially because of falling rock. But the lawn at the river is very close and perfect for kids. The upper sectors (Neppwand and Brösel Gedenkwand) are quite okay for kids, at least there is a flat crag base. "Sonnwendwand" is quite a long and steep access but at the crag there are certain spots to hang out for kids.

Accommodation, shopping facilities and Restaurants are located in Waischenfeld up the stream or at Gößweinstein down the stream. At both towns you find swimming pools as well.
