This crag spreads a high variety of climbing. "Downset" offers short, mostly vertical, crimpy bouldering routes in the sun, while one stage below the routes getting a bit longer and steeper at "Terra Australis". Style is more powerful and athletic down there.
At "Amphitheater" the routes getting longer and you may need some more endurance to reach the anchor.
Furthermore this crag is unique for some special cracks. At "Schüttersmühle" you find two stunning roof cracks and at "Amphitheater" the epic line "Gladiator" with it's chimney like roof crack is just awesome.

Main season for this crag is summer and autumn. The most sectors are shady and covered in the woods.
Only exception is "Dromedar" and "Schüttersmühle" which are facing south more or less and getting sun after noon. "Downset" is a good winter spot, as well. Routes are short and getting sun after noon.

For "Terra Australis" wait for dry season. Even worse is "Amphitheater", before May/June you don't need to visit this sector. But it therefor these sectors are quite rain protected.

except "Schüttersmühle" each sector is quite good with kids. Only "Dromedar" and "Downset" may demand some attention because of potential of going down the cliffs below.

Accommodation you'll find directly in "Pottenstein", next camping is "Camping Bärenschlucht" or "Camping Fränkische Schweiz" further down the river towards "Behringersmühle".
Furthermore there are several cafés, taverns and supermarkets in Pottenstein.
