Froggatt Edge lies in the Peak District National Park and all laws relating to the park should be strictly adhered to: no fires, no littering, etc...
Approach: Park in lay-bys on the A625 Sheffield-to-Calver road, approximately 500m south of the Grouse Inn. Space is rather limited here — if there is no room an alternative is to use the nearby Haywood National Trust pay and display car park, the entrance to which lies some 250m below the Grouse Inn. From the widest point of the lay-by pass through a gap in the hedgerow and follow a path rightwards, at first running parallel with the road and then veering away from it, soon joining up with a wider track (which leads from the main road). Follow this in a southwesterly direction. For the Brookside Crags Area: approximately 800m from the road a large wooden gate is reached — the ‘Kissing Gate’. Just before this a brook crosses the main track. Follow a vague path on the right-hand (north) side of the brook downhill for 50m to reach Brookside Buttress (12 minutes from P). Vomer is situated some 30m to the right (north). For Screaming Dream: from the ‘Kissing Gate’ continue along the upper path for some 80m then branch right on a smaller trail and follow this gently downhill for approximately 90m to reach the impressive leaning block.
For the main edge, after passing through the ‘Kissing Gate’ continue along the upper path for a further 500m (1.3km from the road) until the first major buttress is seen down to the right (18 minutes from P). The next major approach/descent to the base of the crag is via the gully behind Froggatt Pinnacle (though this involves down-climbing) and the final, easy descent is situated a further 100m along the path, at the extreme right-hand end of the crag (looking in).
