Description

Haad Sai Noi is a beach ca. 20-30 minutes south of Hua Hin. It is perched between two mountains and adjacent to the quaint Khao Tao, a beachside village with many restaurants and an interesting mountain temple.
Like most mountains around Hua Hin, the mountains around Haad Sai Noi are entirely composed of well-featured Gneiss. All the boulders are sitting right next to the sea. The rock here is less sharp than inland and generally a lot less sharp than on Koh Tao. There is still a lot of potential for new development, probably more so than in Khao Takiab. Many of the potential new boulders can be found in big roofs and on tall boulders over very bad landings, and developing them will require either strong nerves or lots of crashpads and spotters.

Being situated at the sea, the area offers beautiful scenery and a fresh breeze, but it is also influenced by the tides. You will find that the sea is higher at the beginning of the cold season (Nov-Feb) and many of the boulders are underwater. During the hot season (Mar-Jun), on the other hand, those boulders are dry and climbable, but it might be too hot to do so. The gneiss at the beach gets extremely hot in the sun and retains that heat all throughout the night. The wet season (Jul-Oct) on the other hand is often unpredictable, and conditions can range from wet to hot to ok.

History

Development started in late 2020 during covid. History of climbing here before 2020 is unknown.
