❄️🌼🌞🍂
On the south facing routes (Haselstaudener Wände, Nonne, Großer Mönch, Topfstein) you can climb in winter. Best season is autumn or early spring. All other sectors are more shady and recommended for summer or autumn.
💧
At specially "Haselstaudener Wand" dries within a few hours after rain. All sectors facing south here can be worth a try, as well. though there's no rain proof sector.
All opposite located sectors take several days to dry off and no rain proof sector, too.
💪⚙️
All northern located sectors (Haselstaudener Wände, Nonne, Großer Mönch, Topfstein) offer mostly good protected and moderate climbing on vertical walls. It's more about using your feet than pulling on small holds.
Same style but slightly harder and more classical protected can be found at the southern located sectors. The hardest routes are at "Hohe Geisel" and "Linke Dörnhofer Wand".
👶
Access and sector's bases at the northern locates sectors (Haselstaudener Wände, Nonne, Großer Mönch, Topfstein) are okay with kids. Southern sectors can't be recommended for kids due to quite steep bases and steep accesses.
🍽🍻🛌🏊🎸
The place to be is Camping Eichler in "Untertrubach" ..not only for accommodation but good cake, as well.. In "Obertrubach" or "Egloffstein" you can find good restaurants and cafes. For bigger shopping go to "Forchheim" or "Gößweinstein".
On rainy days visit the grave of one and only "Wolfgang Güllich" at the cemetery in "Obertrubach", or go to Rockstore in "Betzenstein" to restock your climbing equipment. They have an unique gym as well. Must go.
