Description

This crag is a popular trecking place cliff, that holds couple gently brushed boulder challenges. Boulders are mainly powerful climbing on red granite. Landings are ok but maybe not for a beginners. Respect the place as a nature experience for treckers. Especially lines on Sokeripala, like "80 kg of Man" and "kakkosvaihde" are drop outs in purpose, and not brushed to top-outs, because they are next to "huntinkolo"; a small cave that people want to see and brushing would have made the scenery noticeably different. Lets keep it that way.
Lines to recommend are at least; "He, who walks in the valley of the shadow of death", "Turenki Express" and "Turbo-Karate"

History

Matti Vuorio searched for local boulders for him and went to check this place. Lättylaine is the first line. Later he took his friends for some midsummer cranking and the first seventh grade, Turenki Express, fa by Tuukka Peteri, was born. They also gave the first proper tries for project they called "Turbo-Karate" but couldnt quite make all the moves int the summer heat.
Then silence hit the crag for almost 5 years, if we talk about bouldering and not the backpackers.
2020 Sami Haarahiltunen living now in Turenki, wanted to check it out and repeat Turenki Express and give tries to boys project. 2sessions and Turbo-Karate saw the light if the day. And he has continued the nature friendly developement there. There are still projects to be done, and if you want be kind, ask the author, S.Haarahiltunen, how to proceed if your eyes catch some new lines and want to brush them and give your share for local bouldering.

The area is access sensitive!

Access via "Korvenlahdentie" to "Näsintie" . Parking space takes 1-2cars. Take the path starting from the parking and follow it to the top of the cliff. Boulders are to be found down in the gorge.
The other closer road on the map is private road. you can leave your car also in there where the private road starts but then the hike will be much longer.
