Access to the sectors:
You’re first visiting the climbing area. You can ask your auto rickshaw to take
you to “Idariyo Gadh” (Search on google maps (Idar Fort) or just walk up there.
You need to start walking up the stairs that lead to the gadh. On the way you
will pass an arch and see a bench. It is between this and a rusted sign board
that you need to take a right turn and there begins the Bull Park sector.
Bull Park sector: It is the closest sector of all. Approach to boulders is between
okay and bad; you have to walk on vague trails and hop across rocks. The
quality of problems in this area is satisfactory.
If you’re are too lazy to walk on trails to find your boulders, you can keep
walking ahead on the beautifully paved path, pass the abandoned fort and
you’re in the Pre-wedding sector.
Pre-Wedding sector: This is the most easily approachable sector in Idar. Most
of the problems here are on the boulders that are right next to the path. This
also means that you have all the passerby’s as an audience. The quality of
problems here is great. Few of the best problems in the area are in this sector.
Some of the problems in this area are on the way to the Broken tower and The
HSC sectors. After you pass the abandoned fort keep an eye on the right side of
the path and take the first good trail you see. You can also ask the locals for the
way to get to Ruthi Rani.
Broken tower: As the name suggest there is a building a tower in the middle of
this sector. The area is flat, and the landing accordingly are awesome. This area
has the most problems in the crag so far.
If you keep walking ahead from the broken sector, you see an abandoned quarry
site, with a lot of broken rocks. That’s the HSC sector.
The HSC: This sight is a delight to the eyes, as you can see tons and tons of
boulders in this nice sunny, almost flat area. This is one the best sectors in the
area. The landing also is very good. The sector is named after the High Stoners’
Crew, the team that documented this area.
Cavemen: This sector is on the west side of the crag. To get there you need to
go to the Jain temple mentioned above. From there you can ask someone for the
way to “Ranmal ni Chaukhi” (Search on google maps). There is a nice trail that
goes up to there. Some
boulder problems are also on the way. You see a ruin of a long wall and a dried
up well as the trail flattens out. From there you take a right and you’re at the
cavemen sector.
