------------------WARNING------------------------------
As off 11/01/2020 there have been several unverified reports of a mugging at knife point at the crag as well as an attack to a climber's car. These are attributed to the residents of a nearby Roma camp in Aspropyros area. While we cannot verify the accuracy of these rumours it advised for visiting climbers to avoid the crag for some time until the situation becomes more clear
-------------------------------------------------------------------
By Private Vehicle:
Coming from Attiki Odos highway, take exit #5 towards Egaleo ring road (ΠΕΡΙΦ. ΑΙΓΑΛΕΩ). Follow the road for 6,5km and after passing a small roadside parking, take a sharp descending right turn on small downhill road following a small
commercial sign “EVAL”.
Turn left and park your vehicle after 300m in front of the small grocery store (to avoid possible car break-ins). Continue on foot passing under the bridge and after 200m turn right (see map). Follow the ascending dirt road until the point where the big concrete train bridge meets with the dirt road and the tunnel. Cross the train tracks (beware of the trains!!) and you will spot the footpath (faint red marks) which starts on the other side. A further 8-10 minutes walk will lead you to the crag.
Total walking distance 800m, walking time: 16min, total positive altitude: 130m.
Alternatively you can approach the crag from Athinon Avenue (also known as "Kavalas" between Athenians), direction to Corinth (ΚΟΡΙΝΘΟΣ). After reaching the sea on your left and Koumoundourou lake on your right, turn right on the first traffic light following signpost reading Markopoulo-Ano Liosia (ΜΑΡΚΟΠΟΥΛΟ - ΑΝΩ ΛΙΟΣΙΑ) and immediately right again. After 2,2km the road splits in three, where you follow the rightmost arm towards Perif. Egaleo-Ano Liosia (ΠΕΡΙΦ. ΑΙΓΑΛΕΩ - ΑΝΩ ΛΙΟΣΙΑ). After another 3km you will see a sign reading Aspropirgos (ΑΣΠΡΟΠΥΡΓΟΣ) where you turn right. A few more meters and you reach the alley with the concrete bridge mentioned above.
Finally, a third way to approach the crag is from Petroupoli / Peristeri area. This approach has the bonus of shorter walking time and safe parking but is much longer unless you are a resident of the western suburbs of Athens. Start by locating Perikleous Street (ΠΕΡΙΚΛΕΟΥΣ) which separates Petroupoli and Peristeri municipalities. Follow the road as it changes names to Theoklitou Street (ΘΕΟΚΛΕΙΤΟΥ) and then Ploutonos Street (ΠΛΟΥΤΩΝΟΣ) till it ends in front of Agia Triada church. Turn right and then left following Agias Triados Street (ΑΓΙΑΣ ΤΡΙΑΔΟΣ) till the municipal stadium of Petroupoli. At the end of the asphalt road just above the last of the stadiums, a complex network of dirt roads begins. On the upcoming four road splits you need to choose: left, right, left and right to reach small parking spot. From here a faint path descends to the crag.
Be careful not to dislodge any stones since you are passing directly above the routes.
