If you fancy a bouldering spot with a lot of easy routes, tall routes and a place with a view which dries fast, then Kellomäki is for you. Kellomäki big block has the size of a big house where the lowest parts are around 3 to 4 meters high and highest part is 7 to 8 meters high. Kellomäki big block was discovered in the early 2000 and it is located between Hyvinkää and Nurmijärvi. The block can also be seen from the road 45 also known as hämeentie while driving from Helsinki to Hyvinkää. There are only parking space for two cars next to the path that takes you directly to the big block but there are additional parking space next to Ridasjärventie.
While the approach is easy and short, the path is narrow, bushy and pretty rough. While the actual climbing place is very much children friendly the approach is not. Also I would not consider the approach child carriage friendly.
As the block is on the open and up on the hill, it dries really quickly, except the cracks here and there. Because there have been so little traffic during it's lifetime, some new moss have been growing on top of the lines. Some re-brushing might be necessary. Not all lines have been re-brushed, but most of them are. I would recommend people to bring ladders with you, as there are not really super easy place to climb down. Even though the easiest routes are easy, down climbing is always harder and can feel awkward than climbing up.
What comes to rock quality, it has quite high iron content and there fore can be brittle here and there. Some parts rock quality is good, but mostly pretty rough and not for the most skin sensitive climbers. As always you should be really careful when climbing the high routes, as no one can be sure if holds are 100% solid or not. So far everything has been solid in the easy high ones, but some holds have broken off from some other ones.
