How to get there
Drive as for Surfside, but carry on straight on the R44 at the turn-off to the Steenbras Dam. Continue along this road through Rooi Els and Pringle Bay till you reach Betty’s Bay. From the Harold Porter Botanical Gardens entrance, drive 7.8 kilometres to the Palmiet River bridge. Immediately past this, turn left into the Fairy Glen picnic/braai area. Park here.
Approach
From the car park, follow the path running parallel to the road under the power lines, in the direction of Kleinmond. The path weaves its way up the slope to the various tiers of crags. For River Crag, cross the main road and head down to the river, then follow the path down-river for 5 minutes to reach the crag.
