Description

Koh Samed might be Bangkok's favorite weekend getaway. The west side of the island is characterized by beautiful, white sand beaches, separated by rocky outcrops. This is where (almost) all the resorts are. The eastern side of the island consists of cliffs.
Despite this abundance of rock, there is very little on the island worth climbing. I'd wager to say, don't come here for climbing! If you are here anyways, and you want some distraction from swimming and sitting on the beach, the coastline still offers many little spot that are waiting to be explored and enough established boulders for an afternoon out on the rocks.

History

There isn't much history to this crag. That being said, Koh Samed has been a beach favorite for at least 40 years, and tourists have scrambled up the rocks between the beaches ever since. Nobody cared to record anything, like so often, which is not surprising given the generally low quality of the climbing here.
