No special access issues
🚙 👣 General access:
Komsatoppen is accessible through two different parking spots. Both marked on the map.
The west access starts vest of Komsa skole. Take the exit towards the local bomb shelter from Bossekopveien. The exit lies about 150m from the school. The route up follows the cross country trail, and a marked smaller trail towards the summit.
The east access starts just west of Komsa Studentby, and the parking spot is just south of Komsatoppen kindergarden. At the starting point there is a trail map, and the route partially follows the cross country trail and smaller trails to the summit. From the summit coming this way, you have 300m west to the climbing area.
Both approaches takes about 35 minutes, are 1500m long and covers around 150m of elevation. It is perfectly trackable in sneakers, but it can get slippery after rainfall.
It's encouraged to follow the marked trails to lessen the impact on the surrounding nature.
🚌 Access by bus:
There is a city bus that takes you almost all the way to either Komsa Skole, or Alta Rådhus from the city centre, or from the airport. The mobile app "Snelandia Mobillett" and "Snelandia Reise" will provide tickets and routes around Alta.
