🧗♂️El Niu
This is a great sector for short, slabby routes in the IV+ — 6a range, but many of the climbs can be extended onto the steeper upper section of the crag to give a bit more difficulty.
Orientation: Southeast.

From the parking, walk back along the N-260 (towards La Pobla de Segur) for 200m then fork left onto a section of the ‘old’ road, just before the main highway enters a tunnel. Continue for a further 250m then scramble up a short slope to the base of the sector (5 minutes from P3).
🧗♂️El Primer Vol
This sector lies to the left of sector El Niu and shares the same approach. There are only a few routes here but most of them are excellent.
Orientation: Southeast.

From the parking, walk back along the N-260 (towards La Pobla de Segur) for 200m then fork left onto a section of the ‘old’ road, just before the main highway enters a tunnel. Continue for a further 250m then scramble up a short slope to the base sector ‘El Niu’. From here follow a path leftwards into a vegetated gully then head directly up to the base of the sector (10 minutes from P3).
🧗♂️Sector Thai
Another of Collegats’ ‘mixed’sectors offering pleasant V – 6a+ climbs on the left-hand wall and a few much harder routes on the right.
Orientation: East for routes 1-9, Southwest for routes 10-14.

From the parking, walk back along the N-260 (towards La Pobla de Segur) for 200m then fork left onto a section of the ‘old’ road, just before the main highway enters a tunnel. Continue for a further 250m then scramble up a short slope to the base of sector ‘El Niu’. From here a cleared path heads up and rightwards through the vegetation. Follow this uphill to the two walls comprising the sector, which face each other across an open gully (15 minutes from P3).
🧗♂️Sector L’Argenteria
A superb sector! The middle and left-hand side of the cliff offer a number of fantastic 7th and 8th grade routes, while the right-hand side yields some wonderful 6s. On the opposite side of the river lies a beautiful and spectacular rock formation, whose water-worn curves and grooves not only give the sector its name, but are also said to have been a major inspiration for the works of Barcelona architect Antoni Gaudí.
Orientation: generally Southeast, but there are some variations.

From the parking, walk back along the N-260 (towards La Pobla de Segur) for 200m then fork left onto a section of the ‘old’ road, just before the main highway enters a tunnel. Continue walking along the ‘old’ road for 500m (passing sector ‘El Niu’ after 250m) to reach the first climbs on the right-hand side of the sector (10 minutes from P3). Note: the section of ‘old’ road running below sector L’Argenteria has no-entry signs at both ends, though these don’t seem to stop the many tourists driving along the road to view the Argenteria rock formation, as well as some local climbers parking directly below the crags. It’s up to you, but if the police drive past, you will get a fine… hardly worth it to save an easy 10 minute walk.
