Lexby is located on the east side of Gothenburg, close to Partille.
And yes, you read it right!
Despite not being sandstone, this place is compared to Fontainebleau because of the technical climbing and the smoothness of the rock.
Lexby may not be the biggest bouldering area in Gothenburg, but the quality of the rock is insane compared to other areas.
As the main area houses a couple of caves, walls and boulders spread over a width of about 200 m2 and has easy access to it, it is the most popular among climbers. In addition, this beautiful area offers you many top boulders, all close to each other.
Here you will find slopes, mantles, technical vertical climbing and powerful overhangs, most of the climbing on smooth water-pulled granite.
This area doesn't depend so much on friction so it can be visited during all seasons of the year.
If you're a fan of technical climbing on not friction depended rock, Lexby might be the right place for you.
