Great boulder area near by Kuopio. Access is super easy, max. 200m of walking with good trails.
The style of climbing is mostly technical with bad feets, tricky body positions, etc. but there is also some powerful stuff too. Angles varieties from slabs to roofs. Rock quality is really good and there is lots to do for all kind of climbers (yes, some projects too ;-). Have to mention there are some really good easier climbs, which are quite rare in Finland... Definitely worth a visit!
I moved to Kuopio at year 2009 and this place was introduced me by local heroes Samuli Pekkanen and Janne Partanen. Guys told me that there could be some potential, but there is lots of moss and not that much holds... For some reason I became interested and went to find out what kind of place that is and fell straight to love... Rock quality was brilliant and that thing "there is not much of holds" was true, but that was just good thing for me because that meant harder problems :-) So I started to brushing and did quite fast first 40 problems including some classics like: Pelimanni, Top root, Made In Fontainebleau, Savolainen tango, Jack Sparrow, Kuutamosonaatti, etc... Still after year and year, there is something to do...
