Millstone Quarry lies within the Peak District National Park and, as such, is subject to certain rules and regulations. Wild camping and the lighting of fires in non-designated areas is prohibited.
The parking area for this crag is 'pay and display'.
Approach: Park in the Surprise View pay and display car park on the A6187 Sheffield to Hathersage road. From the rear of the car park (furthest from the road) pass through a wooden gate and follow a well-marked footpath across the heather moorland. After around 300m this path intersects with another, which runs along the top of the whole quarry. Cross directly over this, pass through a small wooden gate and continue downhill to reach the major path running along the base of the crag. Follow this gently uphill for approximately 30m to reach the first of the bays — Hell’s Bells Bay (8 minutes from the parking area). The other bays are situated to the left (looking in), requiring a further 2 - 7 minutes walking. Note: for climbers heading directly to the North Bay it is quicker to stay on the top path to reach the left-hand end of the crag and then drop down.
