Mäntymäki is a nice, relatively small bouldering spot in the Vesilahti region, with easy access, and some unique formations on the rocks that make for enjoyable climbing and some nice lines. The landings here are all good & safe, even just a pad or two will go a long way, most lines are about 3 meters tall, so not exactly a highballer's dream spot. The rock quality is sadly not the greatest, albeit passable. The rock is fine to climb on as far as skin goes, but is at times frail. All of the boulders are very close not only to each other, but also to the parking spots, which are just a very short walk away, via forest trail. Just make sure to check the access info, so that you don't end up disturbing any hunters during hunting season.
Currently the main attraction is most likely Seittikivi, with its roof, and web/scar-like formations, which make for interesting climbing holds. Right now Seittikivi, and the small boulder next to it have lines graded from 4, all the way to middle sevens, with the 7's located on the very steep roof and the cave under it. Of these, Ristilukki, and its extended version Silkkitie, as well as Seittireitti are the king lines of this boulder.
Right behind Seittikivi, stands Kasattu, where you'll mostly find some easier lines on the sides of the boulder, and some tougher ones on the tallest, slightly overhanging face.
There is a third tall vertical boulder near Kasattu, which is going to be opened at a later date.
Given the variety of holds, especially at Seittikivi, there is certainly some potential for new lines to be opened.
The area is child & pet friendly, and there are relatively little mosquitoes and flies around, maybe all the spiders at Seittikivi ate them.

🚗 💨 INSTRUCTIONS

Take the highway (road 3) from Tampere direction, until you reach Lempäälä.
Take the ramp and keep on the same road. Drive through Lempäälä, and keep using Turuntie, until you can turn right onto Saarikunnantie. Keep going straight until you reach Koskenkyläntie. Turn right and instantly take a left to Ojalankulmantie.
Drive peacefully here, as there are houses right next to the road. You'll soon reach the parking spots right before the woodcutting area.
From Hämeenlinna's direction, take road 3 north and exit using Viiala ramp. Turn right, drive through Viiala and keep going on the same road until you reach Ojalankulmantie and take a left onto it.
From the parking spot, take a right and keep going until you come across the game feeding zone and hunting tower. Turn right onto the forest path, and follow it until you see a small boulder to your left. Take the path going behind the boulder and you'll be on the tracks left by forestry machines. Follow the tracks until you reach Seittikivi.
