Oberried is an amazing choice for any climbers who want to test their skills on technical Austrian granite. If you're in the area and wish to climb grades between 3-7c, you should definitely visit this place.
Oberried is great choice especially for beginners and intermediate climbers. There's a lot of routes in grades 3-5 but also a good amount of 6th and 7th grade routes. The angle of the rock varies from slabs to overhangs and while the routes are not often very long, they usually offer some interesting moves.
The scenery is very idyllic. The routes start straight from a green grass field with cows. Thanks to this and to the very easy and short approach, this is one of the best crags for climbers with kids one can find. There's even playgrounds next to the rocks!
Usually it's possible to climb in Oberried between April and October. Winter is usually too cold and while it can get hot in the summer, it's perfectly possible to climb here in the early evening. As the rock is facing East, it's best to visit this crag in the late afternoon / early evening during summer months and morning / early afternoon in the winter.
