Østerøya is an area with a lot of potential for both bouldering and trad climbing! But the area is a mix between public area and private areas, so please do not jump fences, like the one around Kjerkeglovblokken. To get to that area, please walk the west side of the ridge without jumping fences or opening the gates to the animals.
When development started is unsure, but there has probably been activity here for some time. Areas like Ula and Vesterøya has been more known and popular, but lately a lot of boulders has been developed on Østerøya, and there is definitely more to establish!
Please respect the private areas, do not jump fences, and do not play music when being closer to the villas or cabins on the south west side of Østerøya. We have during the last years had a couple of talks with persons using the properties, and to have a good relation to them and to be able to continue climbing close to the cabins we ask all climbers to show respect.
Please show consideration to the other users of the area, leave no traces, remove tickmarks, and don't play music at the crag. Enjoy!
