Description

Paschberg is the mountain/hill south of the Amras area of Innsbruck, roughly between Amras castle and the Sillschlucht. The mountain is easily accessible from Innsbruck on foot, covered in a quiet, green forest and features many rocky outcrops. Most of the climbs are along the Tummelplatzweg, a hiking trail that runs all along the mountain.
Rock quality varies greatly, from generally solid to extremely crumbly. Most of the rock is quartz phyllite, a metamorphic rock formed from slate. Boulders are usually crimpy in the forest and athletic at Schönruh.

History

People have been bouldering at Schönruh for a long time - perhaps several decades, but not much about who climbed here first is known. The boulders along Tummelplatzweg were developed in 2017/2018. There is still some potential throughout the forest and in the area under Schloss Amras, but new lines generally require a lot of cleaning and are often very easy.
