Passo Pramollo-Nassfeld has an incredibly varied geology⛰️, there is rough limestone in the woods, polished limestone in the river, three types of polished conglomerate, ferrous rocks, and a strange kind of conglomerate where the rocks are big quarz crystals and granite. This big variety lends itself to a similar variety in climbing 🧗styles: from steep overhangs on sharp crimps, to gently overhung lines on slopey rails, to vertical blocs on delicate and slick feet to intricate slabs on scarsely featured rock; and all of this includes a big grade range from 4+ warmups to 8C megalines that are awaiting an ascent.
The blocs are spread across the full lenght of the valley and offer lots of different sceneries, from the high altitude beech🌳forests down to the mellow and relaxing final section of the "fiume basso"🏞️sector where beautiful pools of water can be found (and in the summer swam 🏊 in, 100% recommend!).
All around high quality boulders, even if a bit spread out, that you wouldn't expect to find in northern Friuli where the rock seems to only be good for sport climbing.
A gem💎
