Description

Peña Pintada is a group of small crags with at an average altitude of 1756 meters, located in the Cuerda de las Cabrillas near Puerto de Navacerrada. This small climbing area, situated almost on the border between the provinces of Segovia and Madrid, is quite well-known among local climbers who frequent it during the summer.

The rock is generally orange granite with cracks and clean holds such as crimps. You will find atypical continuous routes on overhangs (up to 8b+), dihedrals, and technical slabs that combine friction and crimping moves.

In shade during the morning, it can be combined with the closedby Alto del telégrafo for a whole day summer experience. During winter it gets quite cold due to the altitude.

History

There are records of ascents dating as early as 2003.
