When it gets unbearably hot in Mostar, from May to September, it's hard to switch modes from the recommended river chill, hammock, and slackline for climbing shoes. This fantastic little overhanging wave, lined with sexy tufas, is not only a great option for summer ( shade after 1 pm) it is also the easiest to reach from the city of Mostar.
The wall is located just north of Mostar at the entrance to the Podružje canyon, a 7km long, rocky canyon, a pure wilderness that just recently became accessible by foot. On the lower section, it is narrower, filled with small pools, cascades, and waterfalls that fill up seasonally, especially after rain. It is fully walkable with playful rock hopping under the bigger walls, a highly recommendable place to visit. For the full experience, you can try out the Via Ferrata that follows the canyon and makes a great rest day option in the wild!
The wall isn't too big, but a real beauty: A 10 to 30 degrees overhanging wave, lined with tufa extraordinaire of varying sizes! Those who have the skin to tolerate the fresh spikiness, usually also master the predominant upper 7th grade of beautiful flowy athletic climbing. The route to the side is a bit easier and different in character - from a very technical slab to beautiful vertical and overhanging cruising.
