Rio bianco gets its name from the great waterfall close to the sector. This rocky belt is located in a fresh area surrounded by a beech forest, just above the main road.
Rio bianco features two sectors. The upper one is the oldest and is rarely frequented. The wall is overhanging with many concretions, tufas and pockets. Unluckily some of the best parts of this wall are often humid.
Lower sector is more recent and features a completely different style of climbing. The limestone is more compact and the routes are easier and more vertical. Difficulties range from 5+ to 7a.
Crag base is good in the lower sector, while it is steep in the upper one. Approach is short and straightforward.
Do not miss a quick visit to the waterfall and the botanical center that are really close to the crag! If you are staying more days in the area, we suggest you stop by the nice Algone valley and its nice crag.
