CapeNature Areas (Public land). Daily R60, weekly R200 and monthly R750 permits for climbing. Permits can be bought online through climbing.co.za but it is recommended that you buy them on site at for example De Pakhuys, Traveller's Rest or Clan Williams tourist office. The permits are not limited so they will not run out.
From the parking at the top of Pakhuis Pass, walk along the main track for about 15 – 20min and then turn right along the path about 100m after the shortcut (bend in the road) – it is about 50m before a stream (dry in the summer). Follow this well marked path for another (750m) 20min as it first passes a large pillar of rock then across a field and up a steep hillside and finally head across right to the area.
