Description

This is one of the first areas to be opened and developed in Rocklands.

The walk-in is not the shortest, but still sector still remains as one of the most visited ones.

The sector might get crowded during the high season, so try to have a backup sector (not on the pass) in mind, if the parking is full.

The first major area to be developed by Fred Nicole et al. on their first trip in 1996 and still one of the best. It hosts a high concentration of world class problems throughout the grade range and therefore a must see for everyone visiting Rocklands.

Climbing has been limited!

CLOSED until further notice due to a fire!

CapeNature Areas (Public land). Daily R60, weekly R200 and monthly R750 permits for climbing. Permits can be bought online through climbing.co.za but it is recommended that you buy them on site at for example De Pakhuys, Traveller's Rest or Clan Williams tourist office. The permits are not limited so they will not run out.

From the parking at the top of Pakhuis Pass walk along the main track for roughly 30min (2200 meters). After a long straight section the road turns up right passing a large black slab then after about 100m turn right onto a marked path which takes you directly to the Question of Balance Boulder.
