Description

Rövaren is a small & beautiful rocky island in front of Espoo, and it offers easy bouldering problems on grades 3 - 6a. The boulders suite especially for beginner & intermediate climbers, and juniors, but also to everyone who want to spend a day or two climbing in the most oceanic place in Helsinki-Espoo capital area, and perhaps explore our beautiful archipelago at the same time.

To get more challenging routes, feel free to add your own routes! :)

GETTING THERE⛴️🛥️⛵
Rövaren is one of the Espoo’s outdoor recreation islands, so you can reach the island by Espoo archipelago ferries:
https://www.visitespoo.fi/en/scheduled-archipelago-boats/

You can catch the ferry e.g. from Otaniemi/Matinkylä/Suomenoja or Soukka/Kivenlahti. The ferries operate from June to August, and a return ticket to the islands and back costs about 12 euros. With the same ticket you do island hopping and visit the other Espoo islands as well. A ferry from Suomenoja harbour to Rövaren takes about 1 hour. On sunny weekends the ferries are crowded so be early and catch the first ferry at the morning.

STAYING 🏕️
Camping is allowed at the island and there are cooking shelters, firewood, WC, etc. Bring your own food and drinking water.
