In 2021 Sandburg was reborn. Some old routes were cleaned and rebolted and many new routes were opened up. You can find all climbing styles from technical slab climbing to powerful moves on slopers and pinches, the variety is amazing.
Best time of the year is Spring and Autumn. The wall is in the shadow till midday and also some parts till afternoon.
In the early 2000s some Locals and climbing Legends from Tirol like Markus Schwaiger, Uwe Eder and Reini Scherer started to bolt the first routes in this crag. They also climbed some crack lines in clean style without adding bolts. Tue to the fact that the rock was quite sandy the crag fell into oblivion.
In 2021 Uwe Eder started to rebolt some lines and asked me if I would like to choin him. He enthused about the many possibilitys there and the beauty of the lines. So we bolted and cleaned arround 50 lines over the last years on that rock wall and after all the cleaning there are real hidden treasures to climb now.
