climbing is possible whole year through. The crag is orientated in each direction and is located in a deciduous forest so you get shade in summer and sun (if shining) in winter time.

There are several routes that are climbable in gentle rain but after long rain periods the pockets can soak a lot of water, especially in the roof sections.

This sector is just perfect for kids. Relatively short access compared with a good base makes it perfect for all ages. Furthermore there are very well protected slabs in very low grades.

A good accommodation you can find at "Oma Eichler" in the valley of "Trubach river", a few km south. For post climb dinner go to "drei Linden" in "Bärenfels". Here you get good classical Franconian food. "Obertrubach" is recommended, as well.
Bigger shopping can be done in "Gößweinstein". There's a free natural swimming pool in "Gößweinstein", as well.
