Senaca Rock is located in the Monogongahela Forest of West Virginia. The landscape is very beautiful; rolling hills covered by lush green forest. The climbing here is all trad. No sport routes. Seneca Rocks is famous for its old school multi-pitch routes. The rock is Tuscarora, which is a very hard type of quartzite cemented in silica. There are a few gear/supply stores where you can find the guidebook, guides.... There are also a few very nice campgorounds. At the base of the mountain there is a cool stream that holds and excellent swimming hole. http://www.tradgirl.com/seneca/franklin.jpg senecarocks.com seneca-rock.com

Senaca Rocks is an amazing multi-pitch trad climbing area with great quality sandstone rock. It has a true summit. It's a very low key area, lots of old time climbers and it's fair share of up and coming climbers. The few sport routes are few and far between.
