The South facing cliff of Seynes forms the venue for an amazing winter crag which has something for everyone to enjoy. Although the main attraction and sector most featured on photos - Nouveau Monde - is a tufa featured wall offering routes in the 7a-9a range, the sectors more to the left and right of the rock band mainly consist of grey slabby or vertical limestone.
All sectors face completely South, making climbing in Seynes possible throughout winter. Even on cold but sunny days, you might be able to climb in a t-shirt. In summer, climbing will be only possible very early or late in the day.
Although the cliff generally dries fast, keep in mind that tufas might be wet after periods of prolonged rain or shorter but heavy rain. Dripping might continue longer, making Nouveau Monde a bad choice. Other sectors, with classic slab and face climbing will dry faster and offer some great climbing for these occasion.
We would not call any of the sectors a great place to be with kids. Often the cliffbase is narrow and has a lot of vegetation. The cliffbase at Nouveau monde is wider and suitable for kids, although there is a (only 1-1.2m high) ledge.
