The kloof lies on municipal land, and there are no access problems. Just enter the kloof and climb.
🚗 How to get there
Driving out of Montagu towards Robertson, you will cross over a bridge 600 metres after the Route 62 Farm Stall. Continue for another 1.8 kilometres to reach a large gravel lay-by, about 500 metres before the rock tunnel, in front of a broken, bent gate. Park here.
🚶♂️Approach
Climb under the main gate, or squeeze around the gate hinge on the right side of the gate. Gain the middle of the kloof and follow the heavily overgrown dirt track into Keur Kloof proper. After about 5 minutes you will pass a derelict building on the right and an old sign saying ‘Berg Reservaat/Mountain Reserve’. Continue along the very overgrown twin track for a few more minutes, till able to cross over a little stream to pick up the track on the other side. Carry on for a short while, till the track opens up a bit and you see a small, round, stone thatched rondavel [GPS: S33°48.386’ E020°06.215’], and close by, an old broken open gateway. Time: 15 min. from the car.
🧗🚶♂️ Shooting Range
From just after the thatched rondavel, pick a long diagonal line across the left slope to the obvious sweeping fins near the top of the ridge.
🧗🚶♂️Jamaica
From just after the thatched rondavel, carry on up the kloof for about 5 minutes to the start of the first kloof going up to the right [GPS: S33°48.619’ E020°06.200’]. Pick up a path marked by some cairns and walk up to the short crag on the right.
🧗🚶♂️The Rose Bowl
From Jamaica, continue along the path marked by some cairns, up the broad gully to the big wall at the top of the kloof. Scramble up to the base of the wall.
🧗🚶♂️The Lineup
From Jamaica, walk up the Rose Bowl gully for about 10 minutes. In front of a small rock buttress, follow cairns going off to the left through a shallow ravine. Somewhere here start heading up and right to the obvious orange-coloured wall above.

From Jamaica, walk up the Rose Bowl gully for about 10 minutes. In front of a small rock buttress, follow cairns going off to the left through a shallow ravine to gain the top of the ridge. Continue up to the foot of the crag.
🧗🚶♂️The Vision - see separate crag
From the derelict toilet, continue up the main kloof for about 20 minutes, till just past a little concrete building and a concrete dam. Pick up a path marked by a cairn [GPS: S33°48.705’ E020°06.757’], heading up to the right, and follow it alongside a water pipe. The path leads straight up the side kloof, past a pool at a kink to reach the obvious faces above.

From the little concrete building at the foot of The Vision kloof, continue up the main kloof for a few minutes and you’ll see the crag up on your right [GPS: S33°48.767’ E020°06.912’].
