One of the most iconic bouldering spots in Norway.
All boulders are freestanding rocks with good landings. You will find a variety of boulders, from slabs to overhangs. 1-2 pads are typically enough for most of the boulders. Some of the boulders have seen little to no activity the last decade and consequently may need some re-brushing!
At a time when bouldering was in the early beginning in Norway, the golden era, Skiri was the place to be. It is rumoured that Terje Olsen first discovered the spot and was later accompanied by Kyrre Østbø and Børge Gjeldvik to brush the iconic arete "Gjermund Eggen" in 1995. The development was blunted for a few years until Lars-Erik Roald and Lars Audun Nornes cleaned and climbed several boulders easter 1999. The development was augmented when a national bouldering camp was arranged in the fall the same year. During the early phase of development many brit legends of that era ,such as Ben Moon, Leo Holding, Seb Grieve, and Malcom Smith visited Skiri. Notably, visiting rock star Malcom Smith got the big price when he did the FA of Oksespranget (8A). However, Lars Erik Roald and Jon Anders Fredriksen brushed and climbed many of the other classics of the area during the same time period.
