All sectors are recommended for summer and autumn due to the north facing orientation. Because the sectors are upon the hills the bases can get some sun in morning or afternoon

At all sectors you can find good condition in summer rain when wind is coming from west. Once it gets wet you might be lucky if there's a wind going, especially in the exposed routes of the arch of "Stefansturm" and Vöderreuther Wand". The low frequented routes at "Waldschänke" and "Ewige Jagdgründe" stay wet for longer.

"Stefansturm" offers stunning and long routes along the arch with good protection. Most routes are vertical or slightly overhanging and have good pockets and jugs with good friction. There's one roof line.

"Vöderreuther Wand" is perfect with kids, only the access is steep and unsuitable for a buggy.. though it's short. "Waldschänke" could be okay but there's a million of ticks in the woods.

All along the River "Pegnitz" you find good restaurants and beer gardens. In Velden is an excellent cafe with cakes. Little shoppings can be done here as well as in "Neuhaus". Accommodation is all around.
