Description

A single granite boulder with some fun problems around 6A to 6C. It is easily accessible 100 meters from the main road just west of Påryd.

⭐ Utmaning, 6C
⭐ Vilda Vägval, 6C+

Best season is usually early spring. The boulder is as of 2025 on a clear-cut facing south, so it can dry quickly after rain if there is wind and/or sun.

The landings are OK, but an extra pad and a friend to help spot is recommended. The boulder is easy to climb down from.

History

The boulder has been seen from the road for a long time but it took some years before anyone actually took closer look. The boulder was partially brushed on a wet day in early 2024 and then developed during the start of summer.

Ugglebo - Toffeln

The area is access sensitive!

"Ugglebo - Toffeln" is located about 4 minutes west of Påryd and takes about 28 minutes from Kalmar.

Keep a low profile since the boulder is located close to houses.

🚘 Kalmar to Påryd: Take E22 south towards Malmö/Karlskrona and after 11km exit towards Påryd/Tvärskog. Take the third exit in the roundabout towards Påryd.

🚘 Påryd to Ugglebo: Drive through Påryd towards Vissefjärda. After about 4 km there are two possible parking areas - one on each side of the road.

🅿️🚶‍♀️ From the closest parking, south of the road, the boulder can be seen 100 m out on the clear cut.

To prevent access issues please:
• Follow "Allemansrätten".
• Be very careful to not hurt tree plants or other sensitive vegetation.
• Drive carefully and park where you don't block access for other vehicles.
• Do not litter.
• Keep a low profile.
• Remove tick marks and excessive chalk on holds.
• Be observant of any hunting in the area. If there is hunting going on then do not climb. Avoid the area during the first week(s) of elk hunting season which starts October 8.
