Plateau Mali Vaganac lays at some 600 m. It is surrounded with rocky peaks especially on the south where one can see a chain of larger and smaller walls. In these walls you will find a row of equipped routes. Routes are of superb quality, in a firm rock. Difficulties vary form easy in sector Ferata, to harder ones in sector Gradić kuk. In area of Vaganac, apart from short routes, you can also find longer ones some of which are equipped with bolts. Ambience is beautiful, with nice view over Velebit and Starigrad. Since the plateau is above the canyon of Velika Paklenica, temperatures here are lower and this area can serve as a good alternative for times when the canyon is too hot for climbing. It can also be a nice target for a one-day hiking excursion. A light breeze often blows over the plateau and this contributes to overall atmosphere of freshness.
🌞Orientation of sectors varies so you can always find a place to climb in shade (i.e. sector Rajna in shaded in morning, Gradić kuk at midday, left side of Ferata in the afternoon).
