Cala Varques

Cala Varques is an idyllic place to practice the DWS, a rock of excellent quality in an environment with turquoise waters, a must-see. For all this, it is known worldwide and usually a very busy place. Park the car correctly in the places enabled for this, on the map you have a parking area indicated. Don't leave anything of value in the car. It is forbidden to stay overnight or make fire.
Deep-water soloing (DWS), also known as Psicobloc, is a form of solo rock climbing that relies solely upon the presence of water at the base of a climb to protect against injury from falls from the generally high-difficulty routes.

Some people tell that "Cala Varques" comes for "vaques" (cows), so do not leave unattended and insight the food you have, sometimes the cows come to the cove and eat what they find.
As for climbing, Miguelín Riera, one of the DWS pioneers on the island (sadly died in 2019 by disease), along with other famous climbers (Klem Loskot, Toni Lamprecht) began opening lines at the begin of the century, almost twenty years ago. A very picturesque place, where many varieties of people gather, and you can from buying something as if it were a street market to playing with a slackline.
